Massage Technique Choices

Choose from four popular massage modality types. You can mix and match massages and enjoy them back to back.

Swedish/Relaxation

##################

  • A classic style therapeutic massage using a variety of strokes to warm the skin, increase circulation, reduce stress muscle tension, shortens recovery time from muscular strain by flushing the tissue of lactic acid, uric acid and other metabolic wastes. Swedish massage also stimulates the skin and the nervous system, and soothes the nerves themselves; at the same time it reduces stress, both emotional and physical. Swedish massage feels good, is relaxing and invigorating. It affects the nerves, muscles, glands and circulation, while promoting health and well being.

Deep Tissue/Sports Massage

  • Sport massage therapy is a deeper form of soft tissue massage which uses specific techniques to treat physically active individuals, who may be more vulnerable to injury because of the stress placed on the body by their sport. The main purpose of sport massage is to help alleviate the stress and tension which build up in the body’s soft tissues during physical activity. Where minor injuries and lesions occur, due to overexertion and overuse, massage can break them down quickly and effectively; massage will help prepare athlete for peak performance, to drain away fatigue, to relieve swelling to reduce muscle tension, to promote flexibility and prevent injuries. It is also great in the pre-event situations, whether your needs are for relaxation or stimulation, and in post-event relaxation and recovery.

Active/Myofascial Release

##################

  • Goal directed massage techniques used to address specific physical issues including sports injuries, back pain, muscle spasms, repetitive use injuries, tension headaches, neck and shoulder tension, frozen shoulder, tendinitis, pain due to postural disbalance.
